Weekly Writing Spark ~ Resistance || Igniteyourcreativity.net

All of us harbour an area of our life where we feel stuck or resistant?

One of the major reasons for resistance is usually a fear of change but can vary for each person. We often hold on to doubts, the fear of the unknown, the fear of failure and of success. We resist because we are not able to face the changes we need to make. We practice avoidance, procrastination or become anxious and depressed.

Let your resistance finally have a voice!  Start by writing “I feel resistance about…” and ask yourself “How does this resistance work for me?”.

Let your answers and insights spill out on the page. What have you discovered and what can you do to work through it?

  1. Great topic… change is so frightening… for some… that just breaking it down to babysteps helps bunches… love your idea as well… this would be a huge first line in a daily journal.
    Take care,
    Lisa

  2. Thanks so much Lisa! I use this exercise in my journal. I am okay with change for the most part but there is always one small area where I am resistant and writing it out helps. The older I get the more I realize that change is the one constant in life…LOL. 😉 Wishing you a wonderful day! 🙂
    Warmest wishes,
    Belinda!
